The Board No. 36 (2026)
Acrylic & Oil on Birch
Professionally Framed in an Oak Float Frame
53 x 63 x 5 cm
This work is part of The Board. My longest-running series about identity, power and the masks we learn to wear.
I began these portraits when I was between worlds, a lawyer, a new mother, an artist in hiding. Back then the faces were more corporate, more guarded. Now they’re younger, unfinished and softer around the edges like versions of ourselves before we knew to perform.
The sketch lines are left exposed on purpose. The colours interrupt the realism. Identity is constructed, edited, layered and never entirely finished.
These faces aren’t about who someone is. They’re about who they’re becoming.
